Support in challenging situations from someone who has been there.
Peer Support offers the most human starting point for care—empathy.
What is Peer Support?
Peer Support is the act of being available, attentive and empathetic for someone with whom you share similar life experiences. A Peer provides another person with validation that their challenge is not unique and the benefit of knowing they are not alone in what they are facing.
Is it effective?
Peer Support has been an effective tool used to successfully address a wide variety of conditions. For mental health, medical conditions and even substance abuse, Peer Support has shown significant reductions in medical treatment.
For non-clinical challenges, Peer Support provides an early intervention pathway that has shown to reduce the severity and escalation of situations, leading to a reduction in the need for further clinical care in many situations.

Peers are the heart of Kindly Human.
We look for individuals with a naturally caring mindset as well as those with unique life experiences. Our Peers are individuals who regularly demonstrate a deep passion for or have experience in supporting others with empathy, including teachers, caregivers, nurses and social workers.
Kindly Human performs rigorous and repeated testing and verifications to ensure any interaction with members is of the highest caliber. All content on our platform is reviewed and evaluated to ensure it meets our high standards of quality.
Kindly Human Peers represent a broadly diverse cross-section of people representing the full spectrum of life experiences. Only 25% of Counselors in the U.S. are of diverse backgrounds. This lack of representation creates real barriers to support for millions of people. In contrast, Peers are able to understand and relate to the unique challenges faced by different races, genders, identities and ages.
Peer Listeners are trained to manage situations requiring elevation to clinical care and even crisis situations should something arise. All Peer Listeners must pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development designed to maintain the privacy and security of anyone they connect with.
